My research focuses on prediction and prediction error – the difference between expectation and outcome. I use computational modeling and fMRI to examine how prediction affects the evaluation of outcomes, and whether pain and cognition are dissociable within the mPFC.

My recent work examines how prediction error depends on anatomical variability. I use predictive cues to look at how expectation affects how we process outcomes in domains such as linguistics and pain. I hope to discover how prediction interacts with different psychological phenomena, and how individual differences correspond to patterns of activation in the brain.
